2. Eligibility

To use Shortlet Haven, you must:

•   Be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract.
•   Provide accurate, up-to-date, and complete information during the registration process.
•   Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your region.

3. Account Registration & Security • You must create an account to book or list properties.
   • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
   • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Booking & Payments • Guests must pay the full rental amount, including applicable fees, before confirming a booking.
   • Payments are processed through our secure payment gateway.
   • Hosts must accurately describe their property and any associated rules before listing it.
   • Cancellation policies vary by listing and are clearly stated before booking.
5. Host Obligations • Hosts must ensure their listings are legal, safe, and accurately described.
   • Hosts are responsible for maintaining the property in good condition.
   • Shortlet Haven reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms.
6. Guest Obligations • Guests must treat the property with care and follow the house rules set by the Host.
   • Any damages caused by Guests must be reported and may result in additional charges.
   • Guests must check out at the agreed time unless an extension is approved by the Host.
7. Cancellations & Refunds • Cancellation policies vary by Host. Guests should review the specific policy before booking.
   • Refunds are subject to the Host’s cancellation policy and applicable service fees.
   • Shortlet Haven reserves the right to issue refunds at its discretion in case of disputes.
8. Prohibited Activities

Users agree not to:

•   Provide false information or misrepresent their identity.
•   Use Shortlet Haven for illegal activities, fraud, or money laundering.
•   List properties they do not own or have legal permission to rent.
•   Damage, vandalize, or steal property from Hosts.
•   Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access our platform.

9. Dispute Resolution • In case of disputes between Hosts and Guests, Shortlet Haven may mediate but does not guarantee a resolution.
   • Users agree to resolve disputes amicably before escalating to legal action.
   • Any legal claims must be filed within the jurisdiction specified in Section 12.
10. Limitation of Liability • Shortlet Haven is a marketplace and does not own or control listed properties.
    • We are not liable for losses, damages, injuries, or inconveniences resulting from bookings.
    • Our maximum liability in any dispute shall not exceed the amount paid by the Guest for the booking.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction • These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Nigeria.
